Customer Profiles

Every customer in the CRM has a 360° profile that consolidates their purchase history, contact information, addresses, and subscription or membership data into a single view.

Opening a customer profile

Click any customer row in the customer list to open their full profile.

Profile overview

The top of the profile displays key information at a glance:

  • Name and email — Editable by clicking the edit icon
  • Customer type — A badge indicating Customer, Guest, or Subscriber
  • Registration date — When the customer first appeared in WooCommerce
  • Last active — The date of their most recent activity
  • Total spend — Lifetime revenue from this customer
  • Order count — Total number of orders placed

Editing customer information

  1. Open the customer profile.
  2. Click the edit icon next to the customer’s name.
  3. Update the first name, last name, or email address.
  4. Click Save to apply the changes.

Managing addresses

Each profile includes billing and shipping address sections. To update an address:

  1. Click the edit icon on the billing or shipping address card.
  2. Update the desired fields — first name, last name, company, address lines, city, state, postal code, country, email, and phone (billing only).
  3. Click Save.

Viewing order history

The Orders tab lists every order placed by the customer. Each entry includes:

  • Order ID with a status badge
  • Date created
  • Order total
  • Line items showing product name, quantity, and line total

Orders support pagination, sorting (by date, ID, total, or status), and search.

Viewing subscriptions

When WooCommerce Subscriptions is installed and active, a Subscriptions tab appears on customer profiles. It displays:

  • Subscription ID and status
  • Start date and next payment date
  • Total amount, billing period, and billing interval

If WooCommerce Subscriptions is not installed, this tab does not appear.

Viewing memberships

When WooCommerce Memberships is installed and active, a Memberships tab appears on customer profiles. It displays:

  • Membership ID and plan name
  • Membership status
  • Start date, end date, and paused date (if applicable)

If WooCommerce Memberships is not installed, this tab does not appear.

Sending an email from a profile

Click the Send Email button on any profile to compose a direct message. For full details, see Sending emails.

Troubleshooting

  • Profile shows no orders — Guest customers are matched to orders by email address. If a guest’s email was entered differently across orders, some orders may not appear. Verify the email address on the profile matches the email used at checkout.
  • Subscriptions or Memberships tab missing — These tabs only appear when WooCommerce Subscriptions or WooCommerce Memberships is installed and active. Verify the respective plugin is enabled under Plugins.
  • Address changes not saving — Confirm the required fields (city, state, postal code, country) are filled in before clicking Save.
