Analytics

The Analytics tab provides a high-level overview of the customer base with key performance metrics, growth trends, and period-over-period comparisons. It helps identify acquisition patterns and track customer growth without leaving the WordPress Admin dashboard (WP Admin).

Key metrics

Four key performance indicators (KPIs) appear at the top of the analytics view:

  • Total Customers — The total number of customers in the database
  • New Customers — Customers acquired during the selected date range
  • Total Guests — Customers who checked out without creating an account
  • Returning vs New — The ratio of repeat buyers to first-time customers

Selecting a date range

Choose a date range to focus the analytics view on a specific period:

  • Today / Yesterday
  • This week / Last week
  • This month / Last month
  • This quarter / Last quarter
  • This year / Last year

All metrics and charts update to reflect the selected range.

Comparing periods

Each metric includes a comparison against a prior period, shown as a percentage change with a directional indicator:

  • Previous period — Compares against the same duration immediately before the selected range (e.g., this month vs. last month)
  • Previous year — Compares against the same calendar dates one year earlier

Charts and visualizations

The analytics view includes visual breakdowns of customer data:

  • Customer growth trend — A line chart showing new customer acquisition over time within the selected date range
  • Segment distribution — A breakdown of customers across defined segments
  • Geographic distribution — Customer distribution by billing location
  • New vs. returning — A visual split between first-time and repeat customers

Troubleshooting

  • Metrics show zero — Analytics depend on the initial customer sync completing. Navigate to WooCommerce → CRM and check the sync status. If the sync is complete but metrics are still zero, verify the selected date range includes dates when orders were placed.
  • Numbers differ from WooCommerce reports — The CRM counts unique customers (deduplicated by email), while WooCommerce reports may count orders. Guest customers who used the same email across multiple orders are counted once in the CRM.
  • Charts not loading — Verify JavaScript is not blocked by a security plugin or browser extension. Check the browser console for errors.

Next steps

  • Customer segments — Create targeted groups based on the patterns identified in analytics
  • Settings — Adjust display preferences and manage the license
