Transfer logs

Every Stripe Transfer the plugin attempts — successful or not — is recorded in Refinery Payouts → Logs. Use the log to verify payouts, troubleshoot failures, and reconcile refunds.

What’s recorded

Each row in the log captures:

• Order — link to the originating WooCommerce order.
• Product — the line item that matched the commission rule.
• Transfer Account — the payee.
• Commission Rule — which rule and which structure (flat or tiered) produced the amount.
• Amount — the original transfer amount in the order’s currency.
• Refunded — running total of all reversal amounts (zero for healthy transfers).
• Stripe Transfer ID — the tr_… identifier; click through to view in Stripe.
• Status — see below.
• Created at — when the transfer was attempted.

Status values

• Success — Transfer created. Stripe accepted it and funds are en route.
• Failed — Stripe rejected the transfer. The error message is shown alongside.
• Partial refund — At least one reversal has been processed but the transfer isn’t fully refunded.
• Refunded — Reversals total the original transfer amount.

Filtering and searching

The log is searchable by order ID, Stripe Transfer ID, Transfer Account name, and product name. Use the date range and status filters above the table to narrow results.

Common failure reasons

• Insufficient funds. Your platform balance was below the transfer amount when it was attempted. Refinery Payouts doesn’t retry — you’ll need to top up the balance and re-run via WP-CLI (wp refinery-payouts retry) or manually in Stripe.
• Account not eligible for transfers. The destination Connected account has charges_enabled = false. The recipient hasn’t finished onboarding. Have them re-open their Stripe dashboard.
• Invalid source_transaction. The original charge was refunded or disputed before the transfer ran. Check the order in WooCommerce.
• Currency mismatch. The Connected account doesn’t accept the order’s currency. Stripe Connected accounts can accept multiple currencies, but the recipient may need to enable additional ones in their Stripe dashboard.

Refunds and reversals

When a WooCommerce order is fully or partially refunded and refund reversals are enabled (see Settings), the plugin creates Transfer::createReversal entries against the original transfers. The log row’s Refunded column accumulates all reversals, and the Status flips to Partial refund or Refunded accordingly. The original Amount column is never overwritten, so you can always see how much was originally paid out.

Idempotency

Each order is processed exactly once. Re-saving an order, retrying a webhook, or running wp refinery-payouts process on a completed order will not double-pay. The plugin marks the order with a _refinery_payouts_processed meta flag and uses a transient lock to guard concurrent processing.
